Nic Townsend is a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist from Little Rock, Arkansas.  He is currently working as the staff arranger for Troy Curtis Entertainment and is the lead guitarist and keyboardist for Nashville-based progressive metal band Dissonation. He holds a Bachelor of Music in composition from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Music in composition from Baylor University. Throughout his undergraduate and master’s degrees, he has dedicated himself to developing a style that seamlessly fuses compositional techniques of concert music with harmonic and rhythmic elements from jazz and metal.  He has received numerous commissions for works ranging from chamber ensembles to concert band.
